The Tennessee Department of Health announced Friday that it will resume administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which had been paused after a reported 15 people developed blood clots and 3 people died after receiving the shot. The majority of complications occurred in women ages 18-49 years. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted to recommend to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that jurisdictions may resume their administration of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine without restrictions for persons 18 years of age and older.
