Crossville City Council approves changes in mobile home regulations

The Crossville City Council in regular session for April, approved a motion by Mayor James Mayberry to relax requirements on locating mobile homes in the city limits. The change, which must be approved on three readings, sets the age limit on a private lot mobile home at 20 years. The ordinance previously set the limit at 10 years old. When setting an older home inside a mobile home park the only requirement will be that the home meet the HUD standards that were in place at the time of its construction. Mayor Mayberry said the change was needed to encourage the sale and restoration of a particular mobile home park that has fallen into disrepair. Additionally, council instructed the city manager to form a committee to further study and present recommendations on mobile home standards within the city.
