Saturday the #18 Tennessee Volunteers traveled to Atlanta to take on the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech. The last meeting between the Volunteers and the ramblin wreck was in a neatural site game in 2017 that saw UT win in overtime. No overtime was needed nearly a decade later after the Vols get their second win of the season defeating GT with a 45-24 score.
Freshman quarterback Fazion Brandon threw for 148 yards with two passing touchdowns and rushed for 22 yards. The running game was big for Tennessee with DeSean Bishop rushed for 147 yards with two touchdowns while Duane Morris had 98 yards off of 10 carries and had a single touchdown.
Tennessee improves to 2-0 on the young season and will be back in Neyland Stadium on Saturday September 19th for a contest with a another Peach State school in the Kennesaw State Owls. Coverage can be heard on 102.5 WOW Country.
