The Fairfield Glade Police Department has proudly recognized Sergeant Donnie Hammons and Officer Shamus Pio for their lifesaving actions on August 8, 2026.
After responding to a patient in cardiac arrest, Sergeant Hammons quickly applied an AED, delivered three shocks, and began CPR. Officer Pio assisted with continuous chest compressions until EMS arrived and assumed care. Their swift, coordinated response helped restore the patient’s pulse before transport.
The Department has been informed that the patient is recovering and the family has expressed sincere appreciation for the officers’ professionalism and quick actions.
The Police Department invites the community to join them in recognizing Sergeant Hammons and Officer Pio for their teamwork, decisive response, and dedication to protecting the Fairfield Glade community.
