City of Crossville Press Release:

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Crossville AEMT Firefighter Jade Callister was honored with a visit from Senator Paul Bailey, Lt. Governor Randy McNally, and Representative Paul Sherrell, who presented her with a copy of SB 1900.

Passed this year, this important legislation strengthens protections for first responders who are assaulted while serving their communities.

Firefighter Callister was brave enough to see this issue through after being assaulted while responding to a call in 2025. Rather than allowing her experience to end there, Jade worked alongside her Chief, fellow members of her department, members of other departments, local leaders, and legislators to make sure her voice was heard.

Her advocacy has helped strengthen protections not only for herself, but for all first responders who put themselves in harm’s way every day to protect and serve their communities.

Thank you, Jade, for your courage, your commitment to Crossville, and for dedicating your time and energy to protecting your brothers and sisters in the first responder community.

We are proud of you and grateful for your service.
