Voters across Cumberland County have determined the makeup of the County Commission for the upcoming term, filling two seats in each of the county’s nine legislative districts.
In District 1, incumbents Sue Ann York and Wiley Potter secured both open seats.
In District 2, incumbent Tom Isham (R) secured the first seat as the sole candidate on the ballot. The remaining seat will be filled by one of two write-in candidates. The Cumberland County Election Commission must perform additional verification of the write-in tally before officially certifying the second winner.
District 3 winners were Craig Clark and Karen B. Shanks.
David H. Gibson and Gary Adams captured the top two spots in District 4.
Incumbents Terry Lowe and Jack Davis successfully held their seats for District 5.
In District 6: Joe Sherrill and Wendell W. Wilson earned election to the commission.
District 7: Jerry Cooper and Tyler Sisco secured the two available seats.
District 8: Greg Maxwell and Keith Burgess Jr. claimed victory.
District 9: John L. Patterson, Jr. and Colleen K. Mall took the district’s two seats.
