White County Deputy Johnathun Bivins has received the Life-Saving Award and a formal letter of commendation for his exemplary service and commitment in helping to save the life of a baby.
On May 24, 2026, Deputy Bivins and several White County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on the west side of White County regarding an infant who had stopped breathing and was turning blue. As the first to arrive on the scene, Deputy Bivins immediately administered medical aid, which successfully resulted in the infant regaining their breath.
EMS arrived shortly after to take over patient care and transported the infant to the hospital for further evaluation. The White County Sheriff’s Office also acknowledges the following deputies who assisted during this critical call:
– Sgt. Daniel Kolster
– Deputy Simmons
– Deputy Mullins
– Deputy Martin
– Deputy Barriger
