White County Animal Control has taken custody of 18 dogs after the Sheriff’s Office received a report of numerous animals living in inhumane conditions at a residence on the Northwest end of the county. White County Deputy Hunt responded to the call and while standing more than 20 feet from the residence the Deputy could smell a strong foul odor coming from inside. According to a press release, the interior of the residence was covered in animal feces and black mold was discovered throughout the home. Ten large breed dogs and 8 puppies were transported to the Animal Control facility and 18 citations were issued. Deputy Hunt will request the court to consider prohibiting the suspect from possessing or owning animals due to the conditions that were found for the future animals’ safety.
