Sparta police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that happened shortly before 1am Saturday (May 16, 2026) at the intersection of West Bockman Way and North Spring Street. An 84-year-old veteran was injured and transported to the hospital following the crash with a possible white Toyota RAV4 that was traveling westbound on West Bockman Way. After the collision, the suspect vehicle turned right onto Moore Street and fled the scene. Witnesses believe the suspect vehicle was racing another truck during the time of the accident. The suspect vehicle may have sustained front-end damage. If anyone witnessed the accident or has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Sparta Police Department.
