McMinn County Director of Schools, Dr. Julie Goodin, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday (October 23, 2025). She was 43. Dr. Goodin became DOS in July after preiously serving in numerous other roles. Survivors include her husband and two sons. The funeral service will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) in the gymnasium of McMinn Central High School. The family will receive friends beginning at 3pm prior to service at the gym. Family and friends will assemble at Bordwine Funeral Home in Etowah on Wednesday, October 29 at 1 pm and go in procession to Green Hill Cemetery for the 2 pm committal service.
