On Tuesday (Sept. 23, 2025), TDOT has scheduled a routine inspection of the I-40 overpass bridges over State Route 24/Highway 70 near the Putnam County line. This will require lane closures on Highway 70 Tuesday from 8 AM until 11 AM. Work will begin at 8 AM in the eastbound lane and move to the westbound lane as the inspections progress. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists are advised to use caution as they approach the I-40 overpass from either direction during this time. Be alert to the presence of temporary traffic control measures and flaggers.
