Cherry W. Daugherty, who served nearly 40 years in local government, has passed away at 70. According to her obituary, she began working at the Cumberland County Clerk’s Office when she was 16 and would go on to serve as County Executive Administrative Assistant, Finance Director for the City of Crossville, Cumberland County Finance Director, and Cumberland County Fixed Asset Manager, while finishing up her career as Manager and Bookkeeper for The Biz Foundry.
Daugherty was a proud mother and grandmother to two grandsons, and was one of five siblings and is the daughter of Bill Warner and the late Jeannette Moore Warner, who was a former Cumberland County Executive.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Monday, August 4th , 2025, at Hood Funeral Home from 1 – 3 p.m. CST, with a graveside service to follow. (Photo courtesy Hood Funeral Home.)
