A wildfire Friday morning (7/11/2025) near the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway in Chattanooga caused no damage to the tracks. It happened when a tree fell on a powerline.
Over 7 months after December’s wildfire heavily damaged the tracks and cable system, the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway in Chattanooga is set to reopen this Monday, July 14th.
The Incline Railway is one of the steepest passenger railways in the world and will celebrate 130 years of operation this November.
