The White County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a scam warning involving reports of people receiving calls from what appears to be a White County Sheriff’s Office phone number. The victims are told that their loved one has been arrested and in order for he/she to be released they will have to pay money. There are reports of people losing large amounts of money due to this SCAM.
The White County Sheriff’s Office Staff , or any other Sheriff’s Department, will NEVER call and request money for someone to be bonded out! Please do NOT fall for this.
