Captain Will Randolph Receives Dedication to Excellence Award

By Ronni Chase Sep 22, 2023 | 10:44 AM

Captain Will Randolph of the White County Sheriff’s Office has received the Dedication to Excellence Award for the Southern Region at the JAILCON Conference.  Captain Randolph was nominated by Major Kevin Benton.  This is awarded to a detention officer, supervisor, or administrator who in the past year has gone above and beyond normal expectations by working extra hours, making extra effort to ensure the safety and security of staff members, inmates, and the general public.

White County Sheriff Steve Page reports that in 2022, Captain Randolph attended Crisis Intervention Training and aside from his regular duties, Captain Randolph is also the Crisis Team Leader inside the jail.

With the approval of Sheriff Steve Page, in March of this year, Captain Randolph applied for a grant that would allow the White County Jail to have mental health treatment for inmates inside the jail. The grant awarded to White County was for more than $578,000 and without Captain Randolph’s hard work and dedication to not only the staff but also the inmates this would not have been possible.

Sheriff Page and Major Benton congratulate Captain Randolph on being the recipient of this distinguished national award and thank Captain Randolph for his dedication, determination, and hard work for this county.
