Death row inmate Oscar Franklin Smith’s execution was postponed on Thursday evening, just hours before he was scheduled to die. Governor Bill Lee issued the temporary reprieve due to what he called an oversight in preparation for lethal injection. Governor Lee said further details will be released when they are available. Smith had already been served his last meal when the delay was issued. He was convicted in 1999 for killing his estranged wife and her two sons. (Photo courtesy TDOC)
