Cumberland County’s December unemployment rose to 4.6 percent, up 0.9 percent from the November rate of 3.7 percent. For the year, the county’s rate is down 2.6 percent from the December 2020 rate of 7.2 percent.
Tennessee’s December 2021 jobless rate of 3.8% was down 0.2 of a percentage point from November and the lowest the state has recorded since January 2020.
Nationally, unemployment for the month dropped 0.3 of a percentage point to 3.9%.
