An inmate who escaped from the Morgan County Correctional Facility over the weekend was captured Sunday morning in Knoxville. WVLT reports that the Tennessee Highway Patrol was contacted late Saturday night by the Tennessee Department of Correction to locate an inmate identified as 44-year-old Jason Copley. The inmate had reportedly escaped a work detail, obtained a gun and barricaded himself in a home in Knoxville. Officers reportedly heard shots fired inside the house and after three hours of negotiations, Copley surrendered and was taken into custody. There were no reports of injuries.
