Items on the agenda for a special called meeting of the Crossville City Council included a lease agreement with a business located on property soon to be owned by the city. January 7th is the expected closing date for acquiring property along Livingston Road and Main Street for the construction of a proposed indoor recreation facility. Upon closing, the city will be taking possession of a building presently leased by McGinnis Tile and Stone. Council members were sympathetic to the current tenants concerns for relocation and possible interruptions in business. Council voted unanimously to lease the building for one year at a rate of one dollar. Any lease after that would be on a month-to-month basis. It is expected that construction will not begin for at least 15 months.
