The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect after an attempted theft was made at a construction site in the Cumberland Cove area. From that attempt, a description was obtained of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle. On December 7th, a Putnam County officer observed the suspect’s vehicle at a residence on Mackie Road. During the process of attempting to serve a local warrant on 78-year-old Donnie B. Fritts, of Cookeville, officers observed multiple stolen items around the residence. This led to the recovery of stolen vehicles, trailers, appliances, lumber and construction equipment from Putnam, Cumberland, Davidson and Hamilton Counties.
