I-40 westbound in Putnam County was closed for several hours Wednesday afternoon following a head-on crash at the 298 mile marker. It happened around 2pm according to TDOT. One person was critically injured when an RV crossed the median and struck several westbound vehicles. Eastbound traffic was also slowed due to the crash.
