A routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a Rockwood man for drug and weapon possession. According to the Cumberland County Sheriffs’ Office, 39-year-old Avelino Mendoza was pulled over on Westel Road for no working tag lights. The Deputy detected the odor of alchohol coming from Mr. Mendoza . Following a search of his person and vehicle, Mendoza was charged with Manufacture, Delivery, Sell or Possession of Meth; Possession of a Handgun While Under the Influence; Simple Possession and Driving on a Revoked/Suspended License.
