Millard Oakley And Wife, J.J., Gift $5 Million To Cumberland University

Millard V. Oakely, age 91, and wife J.J.  have donated $5 million to Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee.  It’s the largest donation in the university’s 180-year history.  The Oakleys live in Livingston, Tennessee and Mr. Oakely is a 1951 Cumberland Law School graduate.  Part of the gift will be used to name the School of Humanities, Education and the Arts after the Oakleys.  The remainder will be used for an expansion to the entrance of the Memorial Hall building and to fund the needs of the school for years to come.
