By order of Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and in accordance with Presidential Proclamation, flags over the State Capitol and other State Office Buildings will be flown at half-staff, effective immediately until sunset on Friday, October 22, 2021, in honor of the life and legacy of General Colin Powell. Former Secretary of State General Powell died from COVID-19 on Oct. 18, 2021. He was 84.
