Cumberland County is seeing a surge in COVID-19 infections as the Delta variant continues to spread.  According to Tennessee Health Commissioner Lisa Piercey, almost all COVID-19 related deaths are occurring among the unvaccinated.  The state has seen roughly 1,600 “breakthrough” cases with 218 of them hospitalized and 31 deaths.  Piercy stated the case count represents a tiny portion of the nearly 2.7 million vaccinated Tennesseans.

The Cumberland County Health Department provides COVID-19 vaccination daily, Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 4:30 PM at the Health Department on South Main Street in Crossville.  No appointment is needed.    Testing is available Monday through Friday from 10 AM until noon.

County Mayor Allen Foster reports that 22,689 have been fully vaccinated in Cumberland County and 24,340 have received at least one dose.
