Crossville Police were dispatched to Quality Inn on Highway 127 North on Friday after a Smith & Wesson .38 Special was found in the parking lot. A check of the serial number revealed the gun had not been reported stolen. The weapon was placed into evidence at the Police Department. On Monday a Florida woman contacted police to report she had stayed at the hotel on Friday and may have lost her gun in the parking lot. After she described the firearm in detail, arrangements were made for her to get her gun back.
