Vandals Target Mailboxes In Cumberland County

Vandals have been targeting mailboxes in Cumberland County.  The Sheriff’s Department was called out to Howard Springs Road after one of the occupants in a black four-door vehicle hung out of a window and bashed a mailbox with a baseball bat before driving off at a high rate of speed.  Authorities were later called out to Sparta Highway after a vehicle ran over 6 mailboxes and lost the driver’s side mirror before leaving the scene.  A witness reported that he saw a black Ford Taurus that was missing a driver’s side mirror in the area around the time of the incident.  Damage to the property was listed at $800.
