Main Street Media is helping bring the spirit of Christmas to local children this holiday season by serving as a Toys for Tots donation drop-off location in Crossville.
Residents are invited to donate new, unwrapped toys at Main Street Media, located at 961 Miller Avenue in Crossville. The location is home to 102.5 WOW COUNTRY, Mix 99.3, 97.7 The One and 96.3 WAEW Talk Radio. Donations can be dropped off most weekdays, excluding holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m (closed noon to 1 for lunch).
The 2026 Toys for Tots campaign runs through December 23, with toy collection taking place throughout October, November and December. The final collection date for local drop-off locations is December 15.
Toys for Tots asks donors to consider what would make an appropriate gift for a child in their own family when choosing a donation. There is no specific list of required toys, but donors are encouraged to provide new, unwrapped gifts suitable for children in the community. Toys for Tots generally assists children through age 12, although local campaigns may be able to serve older children depending on community support.
Realistic-looking weapons and gifts containing food are not accepted for distribution through the program.
The Toys for Tots mission is to collect and distribute new toys as Christmas gifts to children who may otherwise have little or nothing to receive during the holiday season. Beyond providing toys, the program aims to bring communities together around a common cause and provide children with a message of hope.
The tradition began in 1947 when Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks’ wife, Diane, handcrafted dolls and asked her husband to find an organization that could distribute them to children in need. When he couldn’t find one, Diane suggested that he start one himself. Major Hendricks and fellow Marines in Los Angeles took her advice, collecting and distributing more than 5,000 toys during that first campaign. That effort became the Toys for Tots program.
Today, Toys for Tots campaigns are conducted in communities across the country with the help of Marines, Marine Corps League members, veteran Marines and volunteers.
Local residents can help make a difference by bringing a new, unwrapped toy to Main Street Media at 961 Miller Avenue in Crossville. Whether it’s a gift for a young child, a pre-teen or a teenager, every donation can help make Christmas a little brighter for a local family.
