Roane State will host a Manufacturing Day Celebration this week at the Anderson County Higher Education Center, providing opportunities to connect with local manufacturers, explore career possibilities, tour advanced training facilities, and enjoy an afternoon of free family-friendly activities.
The event is scheduled for October 2, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET at the shared Roane State and TCAT campus in Clinton. Hosted by Roane State’s Workforce Development Office and the college’s Mechatronics Program, the celebration is designed to showcase the vital role manufacturing plays in the region while highlighting education and training pathways that can lead to rewarding careers.
Attendees will have the chance to meet representatives from local manufacturing companies and learn about employment opportunities available throughout the area. Industry partners will be on hand to discuss career paths, workforce needs, and the skills employers are seeking in today’s manufacturing environment.
Visitors will also be invited to explore Roane State’s Mechatronics Program through guided tours of the mechatronics lab on campus. The program prepares students for careers that combine mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, providing training that aligns with the needs of modern industry.
In addition to career exploration and educational opportunities, the event will feature free food, games, and activities for attendees of all ages. Community members are encouraged to bring their families and enjoy an afternoon of fun while learning more about manufacturing and workforce development opportunities available through Roane State.
“The Manufacturing Day celebration is an opportunity for people to discover the exciting careers available in advanced manufacturing, connect directly with employers, and see the variety of training opportunities available close to home,” Roane State President Chris Whaley said. “Whether you’re a student, job seeker, parent, or simply interested in learning more about the industry, there’s something for everyone.”
The event is free and open to the public. A cookout sponsored by Wendy’s will be provided during the celebration. The campus is located at 220 Frank Diggs Drive in Clinton.
