Crossville Native Jill Worsham has been named as the new head coach for Stone Memorial Softball.
The new coach explained, “I’m honored and excited to accept the Head Softball Coach position at Stone Memorial High School. I’m a lifelong Crossville resident and 2005 CCHS graduate, and softball has always been a huge part of my life. “
Worsham was apart of the 2003 CCHS Lady Jets team that finished runner-up in the State Tournament and was apart of the 2001 Dixie Belle’s World Series that was hosted in Crossville. The new ball coach is also a two-time Dixie Youth Champion.
Although Jill Worsham had the opportunities to play softball at the colligate level she decided to pursue nursing where she has been working for 18 years. Jill also has a husband and is a mother to two girls who also love softball.
The Lady Panthers’ new coach also said, “I’m excited to give back to the sport and community that gave me so much and to help continue the growth and success of the strong softball program at SMHS.”
The SMHS Softball team is coming off of one of their most historic seasons winning a Region Championship and reaching the State Tournament.
Softball play-by-play coverage will be heard this season on MIX 99.3.
