On Wednesday (7/22/26) the Tennessee Volunteers basketball team released their non-conference games for the 2026-27 season.
After a third consecutive Elite Eight appearance, the Vols will open the year with 14 non-conference outings between Nov. 3 and Dec. 29. That includes six to eight games versus Power Five foes, as well as nine contests at home in the Food City Center.
The Vols open up the non-conference slate against Wofford on November 3rd kicking off a five game home stretch that includes: Radford (Nov. 9th), Tennessee State (Nov. 13th), Michigan State (Nov. 17th), and Coastal Carolina (Nov. 30th).
The Tennessee basketball team then goes to Vegas for the Player’s Era Tournament with their opening round game against Maryland on November 24th. Depending on the outcome of that contest between the Terps and the Vols, Tennessee will either play Iowa State or San Diego State on November 26th. The Vols then will have a game in the Player’s Era Tournament on November 27th with a opponent “To Be Determined.”
After spending Thanksgiving in Sin City the Vols will return to Knoxville for the Men’s ACC/SEC Challenge which sees them facing Florida State on December 1st. Five days later the Vols head to Music City for a neutral site game against North Carolina State led by former UT assist coach Justin Gainey.
On December 11th it will be Tennessee’s first and only road game in the non-conference portion as they travel to West Lafayette to take on Purdue, a team that’s been a thorn in the side of UT athletics for the past decade.
The Vols basketball team closes out the non-conference schedule and 2026 with three home games that include: Morehead State (Dec. 16th), Marist (Dec. 20th), and Norfolk State (Dec. 29th).
