Two brothers from the Viola community were killed Wednesday when their plane went down in cornfield near Morrison Industrial Park. According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after takeoff from a private airstrip in Viola, the plane appears to have struck a tree. The pilot subsequently attempted to reach the Warren County Memorial Airport; however, the aircraft was unable to do so and ultimately crashed. Both men were pronounced deceased at the scene. The NTSB and other agencies are investigating.
