Stone Memorial High School is congratulating their new Head Baseball Coach Chris Osmun.
According to an SMHS press release, Chris Osmun grew up in Kansas, a multisport athlete, who enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps straight out of high school, where he served a 30-year career—12 years enlisted and 18 as a commissioned officer—retiring in 2019 as a Major. When time permitted and in between deployments Osmun dedicated much of his time volunteering with various sports programs, including middle and high school football and baseball in California, South Carolina, Okinawa, Japan, and Tennessee. Over the last 15 years he has served as an assistant coach, head coach, coach coordinator, and league administrator. Osmun has been an assistant baseball coach for 5 years and presently serves as an assistant football Coach at Stone Memorial High School.
Across his military and coaching career, Osmun built a reputation for developing disciplined, responsible, and motivated individuals while fostering strong team culture and personal growth. He continues to guide student-athletes and support player development through his coaching philosophy that centers on necessary intangibles such as accountability, effort, integrity, and building competitive programs that foster lasting success and a positive culture.
Osmun currently resides in Crossville with his wife, Adrieke. They have two sons, Nick (SMHS Class of 2024) and Alex, along with their daughter-in-law, Haylee, and grandson, Colton.
