An Anderson County man has pleaded guilty to the Second-Degree Murder of his mother and has been sentenced to 30-years in prison.
In 2020, Shawn Tyler Willis, who was 16-years-old at the time, reportedly shot and killed his mother as she slept because he was angry that she had taken his cellphone away from him.
Willis is now 21 and will spend three decades behind bars at 100%.
District Attorney General Clark remarked “This shocking crime demanded justice, and I am happy that it has been resolved as well as the law will allow. We remain grateful for the support of this grieving family that has suffered a wound that cannot heal.”
