Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty for the man accused of fatally shooting four members of a family in West Tennessee and abandoning a 7-month-old girl in a stranger’s yard. Twenty-eight-year-old Austin Drummond was captured in Jackson after a week on the run. He appeared virtually in court Thursday on 4-counts of First Degree Murder, and also kidnapping and abandonment charges. The judge entered a not guilty plea on Drummond’s behalf and then appointed an attorney for him. Bond was denied. Austin Drummond is due back in court on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
