A wreck in Rinnie Saturday night (8/2/2025) knocked out power to hundreds and snarled traffic in both directions. The northbound lanes came to a standstill shortly after it happened. An eye witness said a truck wrecked and flipped into a power pole. At least two ambulances, two Cumberland County Sheriff’s cruisers and VEC were observed heading to the scene, although other units may have also responded. According to VEC the power outage was reported at 7:43pm and at least 821 customers were without electricity. Power was soon restored in that area.
