The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says retired K9 Bolt passed away on Friday (July 25, 2025). Bolt, a Belgian Malinois, was certified in narcotics detection, tracking, apprehension and searches. Bolt served the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office for over eight years before retiring in 2023. Following his retirement, he was entrusted to the care of his handler, Lt. Richard Cobble. Sheriff Eddie Farris shared that Bolt will be missed greatly and that he is grateful for Bolt’s service. (Photo courtesy PCSO.)
