Police Investigating Attempted Bank Fraud Involving Fake ID in Crossville

Authorities are investigating a suspected case of attempted fraud after a woman allegedly tried to withdraw money using a fake ID at US Bank in Crossville. The woman, described as wearing a bluish jacket, red mask, and high heels, attempted to withdraw $1,720 from a savings account using an out-of-state ID.  When the woman was asked to verify her identity through a linked phone number, she claimed she no longer had access to the phone and abruptly left the bank. Surveillance footage showed a woman matching the suspect’s description exiting the passenger side of a gray four-door sedan at 12:05 p.m., then returning to the vehicle a short time later and leaving the area. The woman remains unidentified, and the investigation is ongoing.
