The Crab Orchard Utility District and the Cumberland Plateau Water Authority have approved resolutions to begin consolidation negotiations. During the January meeting of the Authority, attorney Kenneth Chadwell said the resolutions do not complete the process of a merge between the authority and utility district but allows both parties to begin negotiating and working out key logistical points for a merge. Crab Orchard Utility District board members approved their resolution in December while the Cumberland Plateau Water Authority voted on their resolution on Monday. The authority also gave approval for the purchase of a vehicle for general manager, Jeff Dyer, as well as the go ahead for Dyer to arrange for the production of a marketing video.
