The Cumberland Plateau Water Authority, in regular session for October, approved a motion by Chairman Greg Hanson that will allow him to negotiate with a prospective general manager. The Authority is considering the hiring of Jeff Dyer and expects a full board vote on the matter in the November meeting. Authority members say that once a manager is hired there are many things that can begin to move forward, such as searches for water sources and discussions with the city of Crossville and water districts on combining resources. According to Chairman Hanson, the Crab Orchard Utility District Board and general manager are ready to join. The next meeting is scheduled for November 4th at 6 pm at Cumberland Medical Center.
