Weather-related fatalities remained at 11 on Thursday, October 3, 2024, according to the Tennessee Department of Health. That does not include the body of a white female who was found Thursday in Unicoi County. Her body was sent to the William Jenkins Forensics Center for identification and officials will also try to determine cause of death.
On Thursday the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they were actively looking for 27 people reported missing in East Tennessee. This number does not represent the total of unaccounted individuals, just public leads that still need to be cleared.
