For the second time in a week a bear has been euthanized in East Tennessee after attacking a person. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency say a black bear was put down Wednesday after it attacked a 90-year-old woman in Sevierville. Officials say the woman was sitting on a porch swing Wednesday afternoon when a sow bear with three yearlings came onto her porch. The woman began shaking a lawn chair in attempt to scare them away and the sow scratched her arm then fled with her offspring. The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Wildlife officials euthanized the bear and are monitoring the behavior of the yearlings.
