Over the last 7 days, Cumberland County has averaged 17.3 coronavirus tests per day and the average positive percentage was 6.6%. Positive cases in Cumberland County grew by 11 over the same period for a total of 16,123 since pandemic reporting began.
Across the state 2,758 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, bringing Tennessee’s total to 2,027,967 on Saturday, April 23 ,2022.
On Thursday, April 28, 2022 Governor Bill Lee announced that Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey will depart from state government and enter the private sector. Her last day with TDH is May 31, 2022. We have no word if her departure will bring a change in pandemic reporting, but on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 one of the primary TDH Dashboard’s that Peg Broadcasting uses for COVID-19 data did not update as usual. However, various other resources provided by TDH were updated with current case counts and other information.
