A construction worker was killed in Rhea County after a trench collapsed Saturday in the Rivermyst gated community. With the Rhea County Sheriff’s Office leading the response, Cumberland County, Crossville, Hamilton County, Knoxville, and Rhea County emergency crews also responded to the call around 2pm. Workers were reportedly digging a trench next to a garage when it collapsed, trapping one person. The worker’s body was recovered around 1am Sunday.
