Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department Warns Of Robocalls From Amazon Imposters

By Ronni Chase Mar 1, 2022 | 2:52 PM

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department is alerting citizens about a scam involving robocalls from Amazon imposters.  The call purports there has been a suspicious charge on your account and then instructs what steps to take next, like pressing certain numbers on your phone. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department says DO NOT PRESS  NUMBER 1, or any other numbers! Do not call any other phone numbers provided.  And do not give out any information.  Just hang up.  If you have concerns about your Amazon account, hang up on the robocall and log in to your Amazon and relevant credit card account to check for suspicious charges.  This applies not only to Amazon, but to anyone who calls you.  Hang up and call the contact information provided on your bills.
