Truck Driver Charged In Loudon Co. Deputy’s Death

A truck driver has been charged after he reportedly hit a killed a Loudon County Sheriff’s deputy.  Christopher Savannah, age 43, reportedly was under the influence of marijuama when he failed to slow down for a rolling barricade which had been implemented by Sgt. Chris Jenkins who was removing debris from I-75.  Savannah reportedly struck several cars before he hit Sgt. Jenkins, killing him.  Savannah faces multiple charges includingith vehicular homicide by intoxication, vehicular homicide by recklessness, reckless endangerment x2, DUI, simple possession, possession of a handgun under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia.
