Five people sustained minor injuries in Kingsport, Tennessee after a high pressure steam line failure at Eastman. They have all since been released from medical treatment. It happened around 7:30am Monday and the surrounding community was rocked by vibrations and loud noises. Eastman produces a broad range of chemicals, fibers and plastics. The company said the steam line failure caused the release of small particle debris in the immediate community near the site. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation does not believe there is any immediate threat to public health or the environment.
