A missing 6-year-old Monroe County boy was found safe Friday morning about a mile and a half from his home after spending almost 19 hours lost in the woods. Alijah Kensinger was playing behind his home Thursday afternoon when he disappeared with his dog. The dog came back home wet and authorities feared that the little boy had ended up in a nearby body of water. Rescue crews and volunteers searched throughout the night and into the morning on foot. Two THP helicopters and a TBI plane were also searching in the air. WVLT reports that volunteer Stone Gray said, “We walked and we walked right up on him. So it was just the power of God that was all it was.” Alijah was found around 11am. He was cold but otherwise in good spirits.
