Cumberland County Tax Collections Are Steady

Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster reports collections from property and sales tax are steady. For the latest period the county took in $1.1 million for the General Purpose School Fund, while collections for property tax is at almost 27 percent of projections. That’s up from the same time last year. County collections for the hotel/motel tax are already at 60 percent of budget with six months remaining in the budget year.
