Sales tax collections for the City of Crossville rose by $100,000 for the latest period

Revenue from sales tax topped out at $866,000 for the first month of the fiscal year, up by $100,000 from last year, according to the Crossville City Manager’s report. The Crossville City Council was given revenue figures during their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday. Collections for beer sales also rose over the previous year to $72,000, while income from liquor sales sagged to $97,000, down by over $2,000. Taxes collected from the hotel occupancy tax increase to the highest point since the tax was implemented in 2018, with a fiscal year to date total of almost $44,000.
